When you've made the decision to transition to waxing, it's crucial to prepare your skin by exfoliating and moisturizing in the days or weeks before your appointment. When comparing waxing to shaving, you will discover numerous benefits associated with waxing. Firstly, your hair regrowth will be significantly slower. Shaving only removes hair at the skin's surface, leading many individuals to shave every few days. With waxing, hair is removed from the follicle, providing around two weeks of smooth skin before regrowth begins. Over time, frequent waxing results in a noticeable reduction in hair regrowth.

It is advised to wait at least six months after discontinuing Accutane, as it can thin the skin. Using over-the-counter acne treatments or prescription skin medications like Retin-A or Renova may result in skin problems when waxing. If you have recently undergone a chemical peel, it is best to avoid waxing the area for a few weeks to prevent complications.
Additionally, avoid waxing sunburned skin. Allow your skin to heal before scheduling a waxing appointment.
